Stop duplicate and impulse purchases before the money leaves.

SafeSpend protects someone you care for, whether an elderly relative living with dementia or a child, from repeat and impulse online spending. It sees what is being bought, not just how much, and checks with you before the payment can go through.

The software works end to end today, free, with the cards your family already has. A SafeSpend prepaid card is in development to make the protection unbypassable.

Try it first
1 · Sense Available now

The extension reads the purchase

A lightweight browser extension recognises checkout pages and reads the actual item and price, so it can spot a duplicate of something bought last week, or a subscription hiding behind a one-off price.

2 · Decide Available now

You approve, on your phone

Routine purchases sail through. Flagged ones (duplicates, recurring charges) pause at the checkout while the carer gets a simple approve / decline prompt.

3 · Enforce In development

The card makes it stick

A prepaid SafeSpend card, built with a regulated card partner, will decline by default and only open for approved purchases, so the protection can't be bypassed by closing a pop-up or using another browser.

Software first. Card next.

You don't need to wait for the card to start. The free extension already runs the whole loop: it spots a duplicate or a hidden subscription at the checkout, pauses the purchase, and asks the carer's phone before it goes ahead. It works alongside whatever cards your family uses today.

The SafeSpend card is the hardening layer we're building now with a regulated card partner. When it arrives, approvals stop being a strong suggestion and become the only way money can leave. Early-access families help shape it and get it first.

Who it's for

Dementia & memory loss

Ordering the same item again and again is one of the most common and most distressing patterns families see. SafeSpend catches the repeat at item level and quietly checks with a trusted person first.

Children & young people

First card, real independence, with a carer approving anything that looks like an impulse buy or a recurring subscription instead of a blanket block.

Prepaid, not credit. The family loads its own money onto the card. No borrowing, no debt. Just guardrails on money that's already theirs.
Dignity by design. The person keeps shopping normally. SafeSpend only steps in on the purchases that look off. Everything else just works.

Try SafeSpend first

We're inviting a small group of families and carers to use the free software early, end to end, and help us shape the card. Partners and carers' organisations, we'd love to hear from you too.
